NOTICES AND UPCOMING EVENTS:

  1. Contractor’s Saturday Work Schedule:  The Contractor does not expect to work on the upcoming Saturdays at this time.
  2. Detours, Closures, and Final Roadway Restoration: Farnsworth Lane from Western Avenue westward to Ellendale Drive will continue to be disrupted by restoration of the roadways for approximately one more week.   This will include limited portions of Fieldwood Drive, Sunnyside Circle, and Ellendale Drive as the last remaining roadway subgrade is finally graded and prepared as required prior to forming and pouring of the new concrete roadway surfaces.  Specific roadway closures will vary dependent upon the work being performed, and vehicular traffic should expect to be routed to use Western Avenue, Woodlawn Road, Sunnyside Circle, Birch Road, and Bob-O-Link Lane to avoid the closed portions of Farnsworth Lane and affected adjacent intersections.

Specific roadway closures are now limited to the general locations at which final roadway work and behind-curb restoration is being performed.  Vehicular traffic should continue to use Western Avenue, Woodlawn Road, Sunnyside Circle, Birch Road, and Bob-O-Link Lane to avoid the closed lanes and minimal closed sections of Farnsworth Lane and affected adjacent intersections for the few weeks.

All roadways disturbed by construction are scheduled to be completed by Friday, September 16th.  By this date, all road closures and detours are scheduled to be removed.  After this date, Residents should expect daily lane closures while the remaining restoration activities are completed in Wescott Park and along Farnsworth and adjacent side street, such as sidewalks, driveway aprons, landscaping, sod, clean-up, etc.  Roadways will be re-opened at the end of each day.

  1. Restoration of Sidewalks and Driveway Aprons:    Pedestrians should expect closure of the sidewalk along the south side of Farnsworth Lane between Western Avenue and Ellendale Drive for another two weeks while sidewalks are being restored.  Pedestrian traffic should continue to use the sidewalk along the north side of Farnsworth Lane between Western Avenue and Ellendale Drive.

The Contractor will be restoring this week all concrete, asphalt, and brick driveway aprons compromised by construction.  Depending upon the type of apron being restored, Residents may be required to park on the street or in a neighbor’s driveway while their driveway apron is restored.  The duration for this type of inconvenience is only expected to be a few days for concrete aprons that require forming, placement of concrete, and curing.  Asphalt and brick aprons should only be closed for one day during the paving operations.

Restoration of sidewalks has begun this week.  This should provide minimal disruption to roadway traffic, with minor daily lane closures and detours while equipment and trucks service the areas being restored.
